Jerusalem Tourism Cluster and Intertech Unveil "A City Tale" Exhibition

Birzeit - Jerusalem Tourism Cluster (JTC), in collaboration with Intertech, proudly launched the "A City Tale" exhibition, marking a significant milestone in the exploration of Jerusalem's rich cultural heritage. This interactive exhibition is the first installment in a series of immersive showcases titled "A City of Tale", curated by the JTC to celebrate the diverse cultural tapestry of AlQuds (Jerusalem).

At the heart of the exhibition are three interactive pieces designed to challenge stereotypical depictions of the city and illuminate its multifaceted cultural identity:

  1. Three-Dimensional Model: A meticulously crafted model of the Old City of AlQuds, featuring 26 moving puzzle pieces representing sites, communities, and architectural landmarks. Visitors can engage with the model by moving the puzzle pieces, triggering electronic screens that offer detailed information about each selected site.
  2.  Augmented Reality Mirror: Offering a captivating experience, the augmented reality mirror allows visitors to see themselves adorned in Palestinian traditional period costumes. This innovative use of technology provides a unique glimpse into the cultural heritage of the region, fostering a deeper connection with its history and traditions.
  3. VR Headsets: Transporting visitors into the heart of AlQuds, the VR glasses offer an immersive journey through virtual reality technology. Visitors can explore specific sites in the city, gaining firsthand insights into its rich cultural and architectural heritage.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Intertech in bringing the 'A City Tale' exhibition to life," said Ala Alaeddin, CEO at the Intertech. "This initiative reflects our commitment to promoting Jerusalem as a vibrant cultural destination, while challenging prevailing stereotypes and highlighting the city's diverse heritage."

The exhibition serves as a platform for visitors to engage with Jerusalem's cultural narrative, celebrating its multi-ethnic communities, neighborhoods, and architectural landmarks. By providing immersive and interactive experiences, the JTC and Intertech aim to foster greater understanding, appreciation, and respect for the city's cultural diversity.
