Developed by a partnership between the UNESCO Office in Palestine and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, this groundbreaking initiative aims to provide students and knowledge seekers with an immersive exploration of Palestine's rich history and cultural heritage.
Accessible through both a user-friendly website and mobile applications, the Palestinian Virtual Museum offers a simplified journey through Palestinian history, spanning from the Stone Age to the end of the British Mandate in 1948. Each major historical period is meticulously described, accompanied by vivid three-dimensional images of archaeological artifacts discovered across Palestine.
What sets the Palestinian Virtual Museum apart is its interactive features, allowing users to engage with digital replicas of artifacts in a manner that closely mimics real-life experiences. Users can manipulate, rotate, and explore these artifacts from various angles, while also accessing concise explanations about their historical significance and usage.
Dr. Hamdan Taha, renowned for his expertise in archaeology, has provided scientific supervision, academic content, and detailed descriptions of the artifacts featured in the museum.
Funding for this groundbreaking project has been generously provided by Sweden through UNESCO. The design and development were spearheaded by Intertech and the publisher, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience.
