Empowering Palestinian Youth to Address Violence Against Women through Immersive Media
Ramallah, May 2025 – The Palestinian Youth Association for Leadership and Rights Activation (PYALARA) has officially launched the first specialized training session as part of the Youth Media Award 2024–2025, held in memory of the late journalist Nirmeen Haboosh. This pioneering training focuses on short film production utilizing Virtual Reality (VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), marking a significant step forward in youth media innovation in Palestine.
The program targets students from leading academic institutions including An-Najah National University, Bethlehem University, Al-Asriyah College, Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie, and Birzeit University. The objective is to empower young creatives to explore and address the issue of violence against women through immersive storytelling techniques. By leveraging cutting-edge VR technology, participants will produce impactful short films that enhance public awareness and promote social responsibility in support of women’s rights.
InterTech, a leading Palestinian technology company, is proud to partner with PYALARA in supporting this initiative. As a technical contributor, InterTech provides expertise in VR/AR technology, immersive film production, and youth capacity-building.
“We are honored to contribute to this meaningful initiative that merges technology with social impact,” said Ala Alaeddin, CEO of InterTech. “Harnessing the power of immersive media allows us to engage young voices in addressing critical societal issues in compelling and innovative ways.”
The training marks the beginning of a broader effort to integrate advanced media tools into youth activism, reflecting PYALARA’s commitment to empowering the next generation of media leaders and human rights advocates.
